The Minister of Defense, Hassan Hussein Haji, welcomed at the Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu a contingent of the 7th Gorgor Commandos who have received special training in Turkey.
Commander of the Armed Forces General Mohamed Tahliil Bihi speaking at the reception of the troops arrived in the capital Mogadishu said that the federal government has made efforts to build the country’s armed forces.
General Bihi thanked the Ministry of Defense for the move and said the government was committed to developing the army.
Minister of Defense Hassan Hussein pointed out that the process of recruiting Gorgor commandos has been planned, noting that the army has undergone a major overhaul, thanking Turkey.
The Turkish government is supporting the federal government of Somalia in building the army, and a large number of government soldiers and army officers have trained in the country, and troops have already arrived in Mogadishu for training.
